Jane Slicer-Smith is teaching once more... just for Got Yarn!
Jane Slicer-Smith, Australia’s preeminent knitwear designer, has spent 30 years designing, pattern writing and teaching knitters around the world.
Lucky for us, my long friendship with Jane will allow us the rare opportunity to have a “stitches on the needles” workshop day in her studio in suburban Sydney. Jane is so busy designing and knitting custom garments for her clients that other studio visitors don’t get the pleasure and expertise of her hands-on knitting workshops any longer.
Jane will guide us in exploration of color, textures, shaping, and best of all, made-to-measure hints & techniques. With over 100 of Jane’s Signatur Handknits garments we can try on, she will help us find the styles we like the best and flatter us most, and then she will teach us how to knit and personalize them.
Jane’s seminal book on knitted garment design: “Swing, Swagger, Drape: Knit the Colors of Australia” features on-location photography of the Australian flora and fauna that inspires her work. If you don’t already own a copy, you’re sure to want to pick one up.
